WHY GOD SOMETIMES CHANGES HIS MIND
Therefore the Lord God of Israel says: ‘I said indeed that your house and the house of your father would walk before Me forever.’ But now the Lord says: ‘Far be it from Me; for those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me shall be lightly esteemed.”_ I Samuel 2:30 NKJV
Lofty and big promises from God will not bind Him to fulfill them; unless He sees consistency in the life of the receiver of those promises! if your character is inconsistent with His Word, that prophesy will end up eluding you!
Pastor Eli aborted the promises that God had made over his life because he indulged his children. He did not rebuke them when necessary! He valued them above God! That was his sin. And for that, he lost the blessing that he and his entire descendants could have enjoyed “FOR EVER”!
“If indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.” Colossians 1:23 NKJV. You could see the words “if indeed you continue …” The discipline to “continue” is what many lack; not that God has no good plans for them! They don’t know how to remain faithful to a course. To submit themselves to certain rules and regulations is hard. If you desire to see the fulfillment of God’s promises over your life, discipline yourself to continue with Him.
