WHEN GOD ACTS AHEAD OF YOU
“And Jacob went on his way, and the angels of God met him. And when Jacob saw them, he said, this is God’s host: and he called the name of that place Mahanaim.” Genesis 32:1-2 KJV
Jacob happened to be a man whose brain worked overtime! And, God related with him that way, because God understood him perfectly! No matter how much of a fast or smart thinker you might think you are, God will always be ahead of you! Because, He is Alpha-Omega!
Jacob was returning home after twenty years of running away because of Esau. Esau, his twin-brother had threatened to kill him over the blessings that Jacob received instead of him. So, on his way home, Jacob met two captains of Warrior Angels {and he recognized them as angels}. So, he named that place Mahanaim; which in Hebrew means “two hosts” or “two companies”! Those were two bands of angels that God had deployed to protect Jacob and all his, from Esau’s attack! Because, God pre-empted Jacob, He knew that Jacob might break his camp into two, in order to confuse Esau and organize an escape for at least one group! He thought of saving at least half of his possessions! Little did Jacob know that God had already provided adequate and sufficient security for everyone and everything under him!
Just as God thought: “When the messengers returned to Jacob, they said, “we went to your brother Esau, and now he is coming to meet you, and four hundred men are with him.” In great fear and distress JACOB DIVIDED THE PEOPLE WHO WERE WITH HIM INTO TWO GROUPS, and the flocks and herds and camels as well. He thought, “if Esau comes and attacks one group, the group that is left may escape.” Genesis 32:6-8 NIV {Emphasis are mine}. And, as Jacob prayed for protection, he also mentioned to God: “I am unworthy of all the kindness and faithfulness you have shown your servant. I had only my staff when I crossed this Jordan, but now I HAVE BECOME TWO CAMPS.” Genesis 32:10 NIV {Emphasis are mine}. He had two camps because he feared, yet God had deployed two hosts of angels to protect him and his two camps!
God has gone ahead of you into the future! To take care of those issues that you are presently worried about. He knows you very well; and He knows how you think and operate. God knows every bit of the circumstances that surround you! He can see your future clearly, and provide everything necessary for it; more than you can envisage and worry about! Trust God’s discretions all the time. Do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways, recognize His omniscience and omnipotence! He will help you! Because, He cares about you!

My God and my Father, thank you for your watchful eyes over me! Right now, I cast all my cares and anxieties upon you, because I now know that you care about me! You know me so well. Father, supply all my needs, and protect me and all mine, in Jesus’ name I pray… Amen!
