WHAT DOES GOD DESERVE FROM YOU?

Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.” John 12:3 KJV

People’s appreciation of what God has done in their lives is known by what they are willing to release to Him as a form of worship or service! When you see someone rolling on the floor, regardless of the neatness or cost of their clothes when worshipping God; you will understand the weight and honor that God has in the heart of such a person! When you see or hear people condemn what other people are offering to God, understand that such critics don’t have much regard for God as the givers do!

Think about it, Mary lost her brother to death, no one could bring him back to life! She wailed and lamented, but no one helped! The people could only join her to moan, and to attend her “pity-party”! Whatever the family lost because of Lazarus’ death was not a business of anyone! No one even cared to ask!! But, Jesus came… and He brought Lazarus back to life!! Halleluyah!! He did what no one could do for Mary and Martha! Jesus restored their brother back to his lovely family. So, Mary thought it necessary to show great appreciation to God Almighty for restoring her brother back to her. She opened a costly perfume, and poured it out on Jesus’ feet! Women’s hair is their glory, because it beautifies their lives; Mary wiped the feet of Jesus with her own hair!! Judah Iscariot, the one that had no value for Jesus, he that was ready to sell off his Master for money, protested! Saying Mary and Jesus were wasting resources: Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor? This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.” -John 12:5-6 KJV

Let no negative critic turn you into an ungrateful person before your God! Lavish your offerings, sacrifices, and services upon God! He deserves your all, and your best! Think about His faithfulness towards you. Remember His love, care, His sacrifices for you, and His glorious promises towards you! Worship Him according to His greatness towards you! Honor Him for His blessings upon your life. Drop the glory and all the honor, at His feet: Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the first fruits of all your crops (income); then your barns will be abundantly filled and your vats will overflow with new wine. Proverbs 3:9-10 AMP
