UNDERSTANDING THE SYSTEM OF WITNESSES!
“And the chief priests and all the council sought for witness against Jesus to put him to death; and found none. For many bare false witness against him, but their witness agreed not together. And there arose certain, and bare false witness against him, saying, we heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands. But neither so did their witness agree together.” Mark 14:55-59 KJV
If you are about to fire or indict someone on the grounds that you have two or three, or even more witnesses against the person; this message is for you! You might need to read it first, before you pass your verdict!
It is true, that God made a law, that two or three witnesses are enough to draw your conclusions over any matter (spiritual or physical). But, thorough study and balanced understanding of scriptures have taught us that this principle of witnesses can be manipulated and used against an innocent person! Jezebel used it to kill Naboth, and took over his land! She simply hired false witnesses in order to get him convicted! Read 1Kings 21:1-16. In the very next chapter of the same book, God Himself used that same system of witnesses, to destroy her husband-king Ahab! 400 prophets of Ahab were anointed with lying spirits, so that they could give him false hopes of victory over a certain battle! He listened to his many “prophe-liars” and died in that battle! Read 1Kings 22:1-38). Micaiah was the only one standing with the truth, against 400 false witnesses! Don’t be fooled with numbers.
Don’t believe every thing you hear or see, until you have done your own findings! Pilate washed his hands in a bowl of water, to demonstrate his refusal to participate in the killing of innocent Jesus; even after hearing and seeing His many accusers! His conscience told him that Jesus was innocent of their allegations. Please, operate your life by the Spirit of God, not by what you’re told or by what you’ve seen! Read Isaiah 11:2-5 KJV “and the Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; and shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: but with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.”
PRAY:
Father, thank you for showing me your whole counsel! Forgive my rash decisions! Please, anoint me with your Spirit, so that I operate with your wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge, godly fear, and quick understanding; in Jesus’ name I pray! Amen.
