THIS IS WHY WE PREACH
“Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men …” II Corinthians 5:11 NKJV
Preaching that God is all good, and never going to punish anyone for their evil deeds is a lie! I wrote an article some weeks back that a lot of preachers only preach what they want their audience to hear; they are not preaching the whole counsel of God. Call God whatever you choose to call Him, it won’t change who He is-He is also a Judge!
“Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.” II Corinthians 5:9-10 NKJV. What you do here and now matter in your eternity; and in this present world-because you will be re-payed in full!
Don’t get upset with Preachers who tell you to be faithful to God. Don’t get irritated that they demand perfection from you, even if you think they themselves are not perfect. All that vigorous preaching at you should be embraced by you; because they are for your good! Remember, Jesus already taught us how to handle untruthful preachers. He said; “do what they teach you, but don’t do what they do” {if they are living hypocritical lives}. Live a life that is pleasing to the Lord. Serve Him with fear and trembling! You’re right if you call Him your good Shepherd. But always remember, He is also your Judge!
