THE KIND OF JUDGEMENT JESUS DOESN’T SUPPORT
“Do not judge and criticize and condemn [others unfairly with an attitude of self-righteous superiority as though assuming the office of a judge], so that you will not be judged [unfairly]. For just as you [hypocritically] judge others [when you are sinful and unrepentant], so will you be judged; and in accordance with your standard of measure [used to pass out judgment], judgment will be measured to you.” -Matthew 7:1-2 AMP
In literature, we learned about the pot calling the kettle black! This implies that people shouldn’t mock others about what they themselves are.
There are judgements that we should all experience within the confines of God’s Word:
- Judgement {evaluation and assessment} of oneself -1Corinth 11:31
- Judgement by elders (more spiritually matured) in the church -I Corinth 6:4, 5
- Judgement from the Church as a body -Matthew 18:15-17
- Great White Throne Judgement (God’s judgement) -Revelation 20:11-15
These are all great scrutinies that we should all prepare to experience, if we want to be spiritually sound! You must intentionally evaluate yourself. Allow spiritual leaders to examine and put you back in line. Don’t discard the opinions or view of the body of Christ about you. And get ready for God’s judgement; because it is unavoidable!
However, God does not support sinners judging fellow sinners. People who are secret sinners pretending to be holy in the public, just because they found a platform to speak openly about other people’s sins. Jesus believes that we should labor to be clean first, before trying to wash others. If you callously pass judgements over others and condemn them when you are guilty of the same or similar offense, you should get ready for even heavier verdicts issued over you. Be careful.
