THE ADVANTAGE OF HELPING THE NEEDY“Blessed is he who considers the poor; The Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. The Lord will preserve him and keep him alive, And he will be blessed on the earth; You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies. The Lord will strengthen him on his bed of illness; You will sustain him on his sickbed.” Psalms 41:1-3 NKJV
Being in need can happen to anyone! Actually, you are in need of whatever you lack, at any given time! GOD has not created the man that doesnt need the help of another person to live well on this earth. So, when we talk about the needy or the poor, do not always focus your attention on the beggars that sit by the road. Anyone around you, that is in need of whatever you have within your capacity is seen as the poor or needy next to you. However you treat that person will determine what GOD will do with you. Why? Because GOD detests wickedness! To close your bowels of compassion against someone is need is classified as wickedness… in the sight of GOD.
But, when you show concern and do what you can, GOD says the following blessings will be with you. (1) You too will be delivered in your time of distress. (2) The Lord will preserve your life, so that you can live to help more people. (3) GOD will bless you with more resources, so that you can assist more people. (4) GOD will not leave you at the mercy of your enemies. (5) GOD will graciously ensure you recover when you are attacked with sicknesses. And beyond these, GOD will do so many more things, including commanding blessings in the favour of your children, even yet unborn!
In a wicked world, the rich blame the poor for being not smart like them. They brag and look for the opportunities to showcase their “wealth”. They want to pass a “message” across to the needy. They will be punished for their wickedness!! Every thing we do to assist anyone in need comes back to us! “When you give to the poor, it is like lending to the LORD, and the LORD will pay you back.” Proverbs 19:17 GNB. You must be deliberate about this! Search within your sphere of contacts, do not wait to be begged before you do something for the helpless around you. GOD is counting on you to reduce the pain in your “local world”; so that He can repay you! Act now, when you still have the strength and the forum to do it. May GOD bless you as you read, act, and share this!
