TAKE OUT THAT LITTLE YEAST
“Your boasting is not good. Don’t you know that a little yeast leavens the whole batch of dough? Get rid of the old yeast, so that you may be a new unleavened batch—as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.” 1 Corinthians 5:6-7 NIV
The yeast is the substance that makes the dough (flour) rise. Breads and cakes would have looked like pieces of rocks without the yeasts. A little yeast is enough to make a massive dough rise so high, and make it so light. That is how little sin, tiny malice, insincerity, backbiting, small gossips, and little falsehoods grow to destroy huge blessings.
It is better you are described as either bold or rude when you’re removing the yeast of malice and sin from your life, than for you to accommodate them and allow them to grow into some things that are highly destructive. “Purge out therefore the old yeasts, that you may be a new dough”; that is Christianity! “If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over.” Matthew 18:15 NIV. “Just between the two of you”, not straight to the social media! If you are displeased with what a friend has done, or someone told you something that you’re not pleased with concerning your friend, ask that friend of yours in-person first; don’t assume you have got the right information from somewhere else. You may have been told a blatant lie! You can not be wiser than Jesus Christ, He said meet that person one-on-one. Take Jesus’ counsel!
Protect your dough from corruption. Protect your salvation from presumptuous sins. Keep malice and insincerity out of your heart. It is better to be called bold or rude, than to find yourself in hell because you couldn’t speak up your mind!
