WORD&POWER for TODAY
TAKE ACTION WHEN YOU CAN
“Then Mordecai commanded to answer Esther, Think not with thyself that thou shalt escape in the king’s house, more than all the Jews. For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” Esther 4:13-14 KJV
If a Pastor says that today, people would call him harsh. There are times the same people they have raised, counselled, taught, prayed for, given to, and risked their lives for, suddenly get comfort. Then, they see the need in the ministry, or the Pastor in distress, yet they close their bowels of compassion against the Man of GOD and the work of GOD.
Mordecai raised Esther, and taught her all the tricks that turned her into the Queen of the land. He was shocked to hear her give excuses when he and the Jews were being threatened. He didn’t expect her to say, “sorry, I cannot help you now”. He told her; ‘don’t think you’re safe in that palace. Besides, if you refuse to act, GOD will still raise help for us from somewhere else. We will be delivered, and we shall experience enlargement. But you and your father’s house will perish!’ That doesn’t sound nice, but it is the truth. “Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it. Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.” Proverbs 3:27-28 KJV.
My friend, certainly GOD doesn’t want your destruction, but He would not tolerate any act of wickedness. Do not withhold good from anyone to whom it is due. Do not tell them, I’d do it later, when it is just around you, something within your power. Esther swung into action when she got that harsh message from her Uncle. If she was arrogant, she would have gotten angry with her uncle. Because, she had good reasons for saying no. But, instead of getting upset, she swung into action. She delivered her Uncle and her people from sudden destruction. Learn from this: don’t become rich and despise your spiritual covering. Don’t get comfort and stay aloof from those who stood by you when you were in distress. Some even intentionally hold back their financial support, just to make their Pastor “feel-a-need” for them. My friend, the Lord is the Builder of His work. He will raise help from somewhere else, and that money in your hand will become useless, instead of attracting blessings to you. Many years ago, a Member of my ministry once told me; “I do not want to pay my Tithes to you now, so that you wont buy chicken with them during Christmas; I will pay in January”. GOD heard him, then He prompted another woman (who wasn’t even a member of our ministry) to give me the chicken for Christmas, and someone else brought rice, oil, cooking materials, and enough cash… right to my house! To the shame of that wicked Church Member. Always act when you can, before GOD replaces you!
