WORD&POWER for TODAY
SOMETIMES, YOU HAVE TO CLOSE YOUR EYES
“By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. AND HE WENT OUT, NOT KNOWING WHERE HE WAS GOING.” Hebrews 11:8 NKJV
Getting details before you set out to achieve goals is right, but it doesn’t always work like that when you’re walking with God. The least one should do for someone being sent on errand is to provide his destination, isn’t it? But, Abraham didn’t get that luxury! He would have to leave his comfort zone, and trust God to lead him to his next place of rest.
Ruth also did something similar. Her mother-in-law, Naomi, told her how bleak the future looked for her, if she followed Naomi. Yet, Ruth decided to drive into such “uncertainty” (Ruth 1:11-19). She eventually got a rich husband, and became one of the ancestors of the great King David, and consequently of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ-because she closed her eyes!
We (Believers in Jesus Christ) walk by faith, not by our optical sights! “for we walk by faith, not by sight [living our lives in a manner consistent with our confident belief in God’s promises]” 2 Corinthians 5:7 AMP. Logics are great, and wisdom is indeed profitable to direct. But, your eyes can limit you, or even outrightly stop you from reaching the level that God wants you to reach. You have to master the use of your physical and spiritual eyes, if you must reach your glorious destiny.
