WORD&POWER for TODAY, 5th of August, 2019

    SERVE, AS TO THE LORD, NOT MEN

“And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.” Colossians 3:23‭-‬24 NKJV

In services, GOD wants us to serve our employers with all our hearts, the same way we are expected to serve Him. Not because someone is watching us, or taking records, but because we fear Him who sees everything, and who would judge both the master and the servant.

“Bondservants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearing God.” Colossians 3:22 NKJV. Don’t do the right things when your boss is watching, and do the wrong when he’s not watching. GOD is standing in between you and your employer, even though you both do not see Him. Have you even ever imagined, that your secular job has spiritual rewards? You would think that salary is all you would benefit from your company, but GOD says He too has something for you. He’s checking your faithfulness in that office!

Particularly, you being a Christian, a child of GOD. You should serve your master as if you were serving under GOD directly. That is, with fear, sincerity of heart, and respect. If you are a pleaser of men, you’d soon be discovered. If you steal from your boss or mess up his merchandise when he’s not watching, you’d soon be exposed. Rather, serve faithfully. Whether your boss’ eyes are on you or not, do what you would have done if GOD had directly employed you. Stay faithful to your job, and GOD will reward you with your inheritance.
