SEEK THE BEST FOR OTHERS
“Beloved, let us [unselfishly] love and seek the best for one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves [others] is born of God and knows God [through personal experience].” 1 John 4:7 AMP
Lust is when you seek the best from others for yourself, while love is when you seek the best for others from yourself. Love gives more than it takes. When you see people who give to you, and always consider you for good things, know that those are people who truly love you.
Think about it, how much care do you have for those around you. You might be offended with your brethren because they seem not to care about you. But, the question is, do you care about them? How much of your best have you given to them? Do you love them as much as you want them to care for you? Do you consider them deserving the best, especially from you?
Love cannot be practised with words alone, because love is not letters, love is a person. GOD is love! The one who does not love has not become acquainted with God [does not and never did know Him], for God is love. [He is the originator of love, and it is an enduring attribute of His nature.]” 1 John 4:8 AMP. In that case, if you see someone who doesn’t want to give to you but just take all the time, mark him. He doesn’t know GOD, he is not born of GOD. Show love by considering your friends for the best. Seek and give them the best. I will rather love you to a point where you think I’m giving you too much, than to make you see me as a “taker”. “In everything I showed you [by example] that by working hard in this way you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed [and brings greater joy] to give than to receive.’” Acts 20:35 AMP. Seek the best, and give the best, to others.
