RULE OVER YOUR ENEMIES THIS YEAR

“And the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you so angry? And why do you look annoyed? If you do well [believing Me and doing what is acceptable and pleasing to Me], will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well [but ignore My instruction], sin crouches at your door; its desire is for you [to overpower you], but you must master it.” Genesis 4:6‭-‬7 AMP

That was God talking to Cain, that he needed to be in charge of his spiritual life! Irresponsible Christians blame everyone but themselves, for their maladies. But, sincere and responsible Christians constantly do self-assessment. God told Cain to “master” the enemy that was at his doorstep! But, he did not obey that counsel.

You must identify those enemies of your destiny! Those enemies that are very close to you! Closer to you than your nextdoor neighbor! Such enemies like uncontrollable anger, envy, disloyalty, lust, arrogance, gluttony, greed, covetousness, deceit, gossip, bitterness, etc. You must identify them, and make sure that you rule over them. Do not let them hinder your success in 2023! You have to stop them …before they stop you!! “Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.” Hebrews 12:1 NKJV.

You are the one to lay them aside; not God! Pray all you want, there are certain issues that God will never remove from you! He wants you to rule over them! He wants you to take charge of your spiritual environment and climate! Control them until you “master” them! These sins and “weaknesses” (as some people call them) are major deterrents to success and fulfillment. So, do not take it easy with them in your life this year! Deal with them! List them out, and drop them! Lay them aside! Be master over them! So that you may run your race well this year. May God bless you as you do this; in Jesus mighty name. Amen!
