RECOGNIZING THE JUDGEMENTAL SIDE OF GOD

“And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things. And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him.” Acts 5:5-6 KJV

People mistakenly think, that because we are in the erra of grace, God has dropped His standards and lowered His demand for perfection. They think they can get away with misdeeds and vices; all in the name of “God is gracious and merciful; we are not in the Old Testament”.

God has always been merciful, and gracious, right from the old Testament. If you study your Bible well, you will agree with me. God never changed!! A lady frantically argued with me, that Apostle Peter was the one that killed Ananias and Sapphira. She said it was not God that killed them. Her argument was that, God is too good to kill or destroy His own creations! To believe and hold unto only one side of a person, and refuse to embrace or acknowledge the other sides of that person is to have partial knowledge of that individual. Our God is a good and merciful Father; but, He is also a Consuming Fire! His fire is for purification, so that our gold may shine!!

Apostle Peter clearly stated: “… Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? … thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.” Acts 5:3-4 KJV. He told him, you have not lied unto us Apostles who are men, you have lied unto the Holy Ghost, and by extension unto God Almighty! On hearing this, Ananias collapsed and died-Peter did not touch him!! The same thing happened to his wife. They were “New-Testament” Christians like you and I, they attended church like you and I. Yet, God did not spare them when they offended Him. Sin will never be condoned (accepted, or overlooked) in God’s kingdom. Either in the Old or New Testament. You have to live holy, and live right, all the time! God is not just our Father, He is also our Judge!
