LET'S OBEY THE "COMMANDS" OF JESUS
“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” John 15:13 NKJV
It is better for me to stretch myself into doing what Jesus commands, than to join the club of people who say “that-is-not-possible”. People think, since Jesus has died for our sins, no one’s life is required to save the life of another human being -thus, it could be termed as suicide.
Even though Jesus’ emphasy here is not actual death, but being ready to sacrifice whatever we must, even if it requires our lives, in order to save our fellow Christians. He Himself knew it is not what we would like to do naturally, hence He called it a “command”. “This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.” John 15:12 NKJV. To love “as” He has loved us means, we should always use Him as example when it comes to sacrificing for our own brethren.
Be ready to sleep hungry for your brother to at least have a meal. Give some clothings, or buy for whoever is clotheless. Stretch yourself, do what is not “comfortable” for you, because of your brother or sister in Christ. Jesus said; “You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.” John 15:14 NKJV. Loving with words is good, but action is better, and more effective. Let us obey the “commands” of Jesus, “if” we are truly His friends.
Have you been blessed by this message? …spread the WORD, share with your friends. As it is written; “The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.” -Psalms 68:11 KJV
