IT IS RIGHT TO COVET SPIRITUAL GIFTS
“EAGERLY PURSUE and seek to acquire [this] love [make it your aim, your great quest]; and earnestly desire and cultivate the spiritual endowments (gifts), especially that you may prophesy (interpret the divine will and purpose in inspired preaching and teaching).” 1 Corinthians 14:1 AMPC
Whenever you hear any Believer say; “we are all God’s people!” “There is nothing special about any Man of God!” “We too can hear God and pray to God… What’s the big deal about them?!” “Why are they treated so specially?” “Why are their chairs different from the rest?” “Why are they being celebrated like that?” Etc. Be very careful with that Believer! One of the major lessons you must learn as a spiritual person, is recognition of voices! You must be able to identify the voices that you have read about, or heard about while studying the Bible. You must spiritually listen when people are talking, and search: Who used these words in the Bible? Who spoke like this in the scriptures? This skill will help you to identify the spirit by which people are operating. You will be able to identify the rebellious, arrogant, and the unruly. Korah, Dathan and Abiram thought there was nothing special about Moses and Aaron. They thought they were all God’s people-they thought they were all equal before the LORD! You should read about their tragic end (Numbers 16:1-34)!
God has deposited charisma (spiritual gifts or endowments) in people! Arrogance is the reason you feel or think you have what every other person has! Or that you are equal to those who should lead, bless, impart, spiritually protect, and transform your life! Pastor Joseph Oloye was my roommate in the Bible School! This Man of God has very powerful prophetic ministry (he is still my very close friend till date!). I coveted how he would see visions while we were talking (not asleep)! He would share live and photographic revelations that left me in awe of God in His life! I remember an occasion in the school, Pastor Joseph saw a totally strange lady carrying a baby in her hands; suddenly the baby vanished from her hands! Out of curiosity, he approached the lady with this revelation. She busted into tears! It happened that she had been trusting God for her own child-she was barren! That vision assured her that she would carry her own child in her hands! She needed to wait for God. I prayed to God to bless me with that gift, and He did!
Apostle Paul told the Church in Rome, that he had something to share with them: Romans 1:11 AMPC “For I am yearning to see you, that I may impart and share with you some spiritual gift to strengthen and establish you.“ Do not allow arrogance and self-conceit to cripple you spiritually! Your spiritual leaders have somethings to offer you! That gifted friend can be your conduit to acess other dimensions of God! The Bible says you should earnestly desire, and cultivate spiritual gifts. When you hear that a charismatic Preacher is visiting your neighborhood, attend the meeting! Serve in, or plant a seed into his or her ministry, if you can! Celebrate the gifts that God has given to people, and you can pray for such gifts too, if you know you need them in your life!

Heavenly Father, I thank you because every good and perfect gift comes from you! They come down from you, the Father of lights! Oh God, strengthen me with your gifts, fortify me for your purposes, in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen🙏 !
