 REBUKE HIM, FORGIVE HIM.

“Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him.” Luke 17:3 NKJV

High level of immaturity and insincerity is what makes Christians go to the public to settle a matter that could have been settled among themselves.

We have a generation of Christians who do not rebuke one another, they just go to the social media to get verdicts over their brothers’ matters. Sincerity and genuine love rebukes. Jesus said, rebuke your brother if he does what is wrong. If he repents, forgive him! He didn’t say go and publicize the matter and avoid him.

True love is very bold! True love doesn’t want his brother’s image to get dented in the public. True love looks out for repentance, not destruction. True love seeks reconciliation, not malice! That is the love of Jesus Christ, not what so many so-called Christians are doing today.

Love your brothers and sisters enough to rebuke them when they are wrong. If they repent, forgive them. The brother or sister you should avoid is the one that gets offended when you correct him or her. The love of Christ constraints us from being reckless with our displeasures! Follow the Bible, not social media.
