HOW JESUS BECAME THE SCAPEGOAT FOR YOU

And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness.” Leviticus 16:21 KJV

The word scapegoat is defined as a person who is blamed for the wrongdoings, mistakes, or faults of others… (Oxford).

Aaron, the high priest in the Old Testament, while cleansing the people from their sins, would select a particular goat, lay his two hands on the head of the goat, and confess all the sins and transgressions of the people upon its head! So that, figuratively the goat was carrying the sins of the entire people!! Then, that goat would be driven into the wilderness! The goat was innocent, but it carried the sins and the consequences of the sins of the people with it, into the wilderness! After then, the people were perceived to be holy, sinless, and blameless! Jesus was exactly like that! He had no, but He was made sin for us, so that we could become righteous!! 2 Corinthians 5:21 KJV “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”

Inflicting pain on yourself because of the sins that you have committed will not make you righteous before God! Punishing yourself for your wrongdoings is a sheer waste of time and efforts! Because, your sins will still remain. Jesus has already been punished on your behalf; you are now a righteous person if you can believe! If you make another mistake, simply ask God to forgive you. Do not try to punish yourself. Isaiah 53:5 KJV “… he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” If you do not believe this, as simple as it may sound, your sins will remain… and you should get ready to be punished for them! But, if you believe that Jesus has been crucified, and punished for your sins, you will become righteous!

PRAY🙏:
Heaven Father, thank you for your word! I believe that Jesus Christ has been punished and crucified for my sins! I declare that I am righteous and sinless because Jesus Christ has been judged on my behalf! Amen.
