HEY! … DO NOT GO THAT WAY, PLEASE.
“Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, And rely on horses, Who trust in chariots because they are many, And in horsemen because they are very strong, But who do not look to the Holy One of Israel, Nor seek the Lord!” Isaiah 31:1 NKJV
Egypt was a land that kept Israel in captivity for hundreds of years. A land that hated Israel’s prosperity. A land that wanted them to remain feeble and small. A land that hated their growth to the point of actually killing their children due to the fear of what they could become. Egypt {in those days of Israel’s slavery} represented darkness! Egypt represented the captor. Egypt represented the world …and actually satan, trying to hold GOD’s children in bondage!
Then, GOD came to the rescue of His people. He delivered His children from the grip of the captor. He destroyed Egypt to liberate Israel. Then after some while, Israel seeks to go back into Egypt to look for help during their days of distress! Many Believers today are like that! Because they lack food, money, shelter, clothing, etc, simply those basic things of life; they turn around to seek satan for help! They fix their gaze on the physical flashy things that the enemy is boasting and bragging about, and then they look away from their Lord-GOD Almighty!
_*”Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; And their horses are flesh, and not spirit. When the Lord stretches out His hand, Both he who helps will fall, And he who is helped will fall down; They all will perish together.”*_ Isaiah 31:3 NKJV. Satan will be punished! And those who run to him for help will be punished with him! Die of hunger if you must! Do not ever run to GOD’s enemy for help when you’re in distress. Pastor; please stay on GOD’s path regardless of your distress. Do not collect any idea or “power” from satan to get money or attract crowds into your ministry! Christian, do not compromise your standards because you want quick success! Do not “GO DOWN TO EGYPT FOR HELP”! Our GOD is able to save us! And even if He chooses not to save us, we should still not bow! Remember that? (Daniel 3:17-18).
