WORD&POWER for TODAY
FORGIVE AS SOON AS YOU ARE ASKED
“Blessed [content, sheltered by God’s promises] are the merciful, for they will receive mercy.” Matthew 5:7 AMP
Mercy is needed majorly in the presence of offence, or sin. If GOD is merciful, and He wants us to be merciful to those who have offended us; then He actually wants us to be just like Him.
Something spectacular happened in a certain city. Jesus was teaching when a paralytic man was brought in through the roof. When He saw their faith, He told the crippled man “Man, your sins are forgiven you.” The Pharisees did not know that human beings have the power to forgive the sins of fellow humans. They thought; “Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?” Jesus then reacted: “… when Jesus perceived their thoughts, He answered and said to them, “Why are you reasoning in your hearts? Which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Rise up and walk’? But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins” —He said to the man who was paralyzed, “I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house. Immediately he rose up before them, took up what he had been lying on, and departed to his own house, glorifying God. And they were all amazed, and they glorified God and were filled with fear, saying, “We have seen strange things today!” (Luke 5:20-26 NKJV).
We too can see strange things today, if we would forgive the sins of someone right now. The amazing thing about that story is that the lame man walked immediately he was forgiven. How many people have we kept bound and crippled because we chose to keep their sins, instead of forgiving them? Are you aware that even your sins wont be forgiven if you don’t forgive those that have wronged you? See, “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” Matthew 6:14-15 NKJV. Jesus also said, “Blessed [content, sheltered by God’s promises] are the merciful, for they will receive mercy.” Matthew 5:7 AMP. What you give out is what you will get back, from GOD! If you are merciful towards your offenders, you will also get mercy whenever you offend GOD {or anyone}. Forgive whoever has offended you. Call them if you should. I believe an instant miracle awaits you.
