FAITH IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST
“And on the basis of faith in His name, it is the name of Jesus which has strengthened this man whom you see and know; and the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect health and complete wholeness in your presence.” Acts 3:16 AMP
Knowing the name of Jesus is great, but knowing the power and the authority embedded in that name is greater!
People have become so carefree with the name of Jesus; so much that they use it with disdain. Some use it for exclamations; that is, when they’re shocked with any news, they scream “JESUS!” Some even jest and crack jokes with the name. I watched a popular Preacher say, if you’re matured spiritually, you don’t have to use Jesus’ name to get your prayers answered! He said there is an extent you could walk with God that even your name can cast out devils! And, he referred to Acts 19:15 where a demon said: “… Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?” Demons know every genuine Believer and Preacher of the Truth; just as much as they know the hypocrites and liars! That demons know you as a lightbearer does not mean they fear you as they fear Jesus! It is the LORD’s name that has been put on you that they fear and tremble at-not you as a person! The Apostle Paul that this Preacher was boasting about prayed and cast out demons using the name of The Lord Jesus Christ; never once did Paul use his own name. Trying to teach “deep things” in order to impress people is not ministry. This is how Preachers gradually drift into heresies, and eventually become apostates!! The Gospel is good and beautiful enough by itself. You should preach and teach it as it is! There is no need for any embellishments. The Gospel is powerful enough to proof itself true.
So, people don’t get answers to their prayers because their faith is not in the power, and the authority embedded in the name of Jesus Christ! People have confidence in their own “holiness”, while others just have what we call self-confidence. Acts 3:12 KJV: “And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? Or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?” He made it clear, that the man got his strenght, perfect health, and complete wholeness, because of their faith in the name of Jesus Christ! “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:9-11 KJV. Put your confidence in that name, pray with faith using the name of Jesus Christ; you too will receive strength, and you will have complete wellness in every aspect of your life!! Start now.
