DROP THE BAGS!
“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.“ Hebrews 12:1 KJV
Anyone who has no aim in life has all the time in the world to hang around! If your mind is large enough to contain people’s wrongs, it is empty of purpose! The heart that has the time to scheme evil lacks direction in the paths of righteousness!
If you are a Christian, ask yourself, what race am I running on earth? What goal am I pursuing for God? Why, am I here on earth!! After conversion from sin, every one must have direction towards certain purposes for God; else, our presence here on earth is useless! There are those who know their purpose and understand the race that God has set before them, but, they are weighed down and distracted by the many bags they are carrying. Bags that contain sins and concerns for other people! Sin has chains, if you do it, it will restrict your movement and speed towards your divine purposes! Offences with humans are barriers to answered prayers!
Apostle Paul advices us to drop the baggages! Drop those bags of sin and human issues. Goal-getters travel light! Athletes are light-weighted! If you must finish your race well, in good record time, you must keep “looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2 KJV. When Peter wanted to get distracted by John’s assignment, Jesus scolded him: “… If I want him to stay alive until I come [again], what is that to you? You follow Me!” John 21:22 AMP. So, my friend, face your purpose, drop the baggages; refuse to be distracted! Or else, human beings and their issues will hinder you from reaching the finish line! You might lose your medal as a result. Be focused!!
PRAY🙏:
Heavenly Father, thank you for the goals you have set before me to achieve for you… I am grateful! Father, help me to finish my race well, without falling due to the distractions from sin and men, in Jesus’ mighty name I pray. Amen!
