WORD&POWER for TODAY
DO NOT MAKE THESE MISTAKES
“Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness.” II Corinthians 9:10 NKJV
Have you ever given either in Church or to someone yet in your spirit you just knew: “that was a waste!”? This may sound funny, but I won’t forget a brother who lamented to his friend; “it is seed-sowing that turned my life into this mess ooo!” He saw people giving cars and many things to God in his church, he joined them out of the spur-of-the-moment to give his motorcycle. That was the same motorbike he was using to transport people commercially to make money for himself. Well, whether the bike was for private use or for commercial purposes, God could still have blessed him, multiplied that seed, and cause increase to happen in his life, if what he sowed was a seed and not bread!
Let me explain. God is infinite in wisdom, the Bible says He supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, to the eater. Seeds are meant to be sown or planted, and breads are supposed to be eaten-not planted!! You must not eat your seed, else, you have eaten your future harvest! Yet, you’re not supposed to plant the bread you are supposed to eat! Breads don’t grow, but seeds grow! Seeds multiply and cause increase, while breads diminish by every bite! If you ever gave and you felt losses afterwards, you must have planted your bread not seed. Sometimes, you may even be holding a seed that looks very much like bread. You have to be spiritually smart like the widow of Zarephat in the days of Elijah, to know: “this is my seed for endless harvests!” If she had eaten that last bread with her son, they would have died of hunger! But she was spiritually smart, she planted that seed that looked like bread! And their supplies of bread never ended! Hallelujah!!
God is giving you this message to help you know that not all that we plant grows, they must be seeds, before they can multiply and cause increase! Don’t waste your breads. God doesn’t accept foolish sacrifices! Always check first, is this my bread for food, or my seed for a future harvest? God wants you well, and He wants you to increase and multiply exceedingly-not for you to diminish. Be spiritually smart!
