WORD&POWER for TODAY
CONTROVERSIES OVER THE PREACHER
“Again there was a division among the people because of these words. Many of them were saying, “He has a demon! He is mad! Why do you listen to him?” But others were saying, “A man with a demon could not talk like this! How could a demon give sight to blind people?”” John 10:19-21 GNB
Settle this first in your mind before accepting to serve GOD, you will be misunderstood! Today, even the finest of preachers is a topic for debate on every social media platform. Someone once asked me; ‘do you know preacher ABC, is he a man of GOD indeed?’ My reply: “I have not succeeded in persuading everyone about my call yet, how can I validate or disapprove another man’s ministry?” And the discussion ended there.
Yesterday, I had explained that you would know real men of GOD through their message, and the works they do by the Spirit of GOD. However, even when you are preaching GOD’s Word and doing good works by the finger of GOD, people will still misunderstand you. GOD didn’t call us to win the votes and “likes” of men, He called us to minister to men by His own terms. Whether they accept you or not, you must remain GOD’s Messenger. Think about it, if Jesus in all of His perfection and excellence could be said to be demon possessed because they didn’t understand His doctrines, why worry because certain people gossiped you or doubt your ministry?
What you must settle most importantly is that you are not doing your own things, but GOD’s. Make sure, you are preaching or teaching exactly what you were sent to do. Among the rioters, there would be those who believe in you. Every man or woman is sent to certain people. Those who celebrate and appreciate your ministry are your actual audience, make your message louder in the ears of those ones. Apostle Paul almost died early in the hands of the Jews until he realized this truth: “But when they opposed him and blasphemed, he shook his garments and said to them, “Your blood be upon your own heads; I am clean. From now on I will go to the Gentiles.” Acts 18:6 NKJV. Do not die trying to force your message down the throat of those who are not listening to you. Pray that GOD leads you to those He has chosen you to minister to. There is a city, a people, a nation, some crowd somewhere, waiting to hear someone like you. Don’t write yourself off with the pen of your negative critics, you’re GOD’s Minister, and that is what matters most!
Have you been blessed by this message? …spread the WORD, share with your friends. As it is written; “The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.” -Psalms 68:11 KJV
