BE KINDER TO STRANGERS THIS YEAR
“And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day; and he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground, and said, My Lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant.” Genesis 18:1-3 KJV
Kindness is on a higher level, when it is volunteered! It is great when you respond to a cry for help, but it is even greater when you provide help based on your observation that someone needs help.
Strangers, widows, the poor, and orphans attract God’s attention so much; because of their conditions of being helpless. See how Abraham approached these three strangers. He ran towards them. Offered to wash their feet. He proposed to give them a shade to relax under. He instructed his household to quickly make arrangements for their food and refreshments. Without Abraham knowing, that God Almighty and His two angels, were the “strangers”! Sarah did not know that God had come to bless her womb with her long awaited miracle baby-Isaac!
How do you receive strangers? Are you among those narrow-minded people who assume that every stranger is a thief? As you are, if you travel to certain communities even within your own country, you too will instantly be perceived as a stranger, right? How would you like to be received or treated? Read Hebrews 13:2 AMP “Do not neglect to extend hospitality to strangers [especially among the family of believers—being friendly, cordial, and gracious, sharing the comforts of your home and doing your part generously], for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.” Kindness is a seed, when you plant it, you will reap from it. This year, volunteer help to people, whether you know them or not. Be ever ready to show kindness. Who knows… you too might be hosting God and His angels this year!!

Father, thank you for your word. Please, help my heart to be warm towards people, whether I know them or not! Empower me to be blessing to people, in Jesus’ mighty name I pray. Amen!
