WORD&POWER for TODAY, 27th of August, 2019.
HUMILITY IS A DELIBERATE ACT, JUST LIKE ARROGANCE
“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.” 1 Peter 5:6 KJV
Humility is a deliberate act to let others take the glory if they want to. Humility is not another word for stupidity, but power under control. GOD doesn’t want to humble you, He wants you to humble yourself.
Arrogance and humility are actions that we demonstrate deliberately. And the two of them have their results. “Likewise, you younger men [of lesser rank and experience], be subject to your elders [seek their counsel]; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another [tie on the servant’s apron], for God is opposed to the proud [the disdainful, the presumptuous, and He defeats them], but He gives grace to the humble.” 1 PETER 5:5 AMP. If you are proud, GOD will “oppose” you, and He will “defeat” you!! But, He will give “grace”, supernatural help, to the humble.
When you see those who are older and more experienced than you, taking steps backward for you to display your arrogance, you are in serious danger. Because, arrogance is a liar. It says you are bigger than your actual size. Arrogance is an inflator. It pumps people, making them feel bigger than their actual size. Meek people shall be promoted, but not by themselves -by GOD! And GOD assures them to not worry about saving their name, or fighting for anything, or themselves: “casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully].” 1 PETER 5:7 AMP. Therefore, be deliberate about your humility, don’t pray for GOD to humble you (You may not like the experience -ask Nebuchadnezzar and King Herod). Be intentional about your actions.
