UNDERSTANDING CONFESSION OF SINS TO MEN

“Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” James 5:16 NKJV

It is good for you to know why God sometimes tells us to do uncomfortable things; such as disclosing our shortcomings to others.

Submission to God and to others may portray you as weak in the flesh, but there is tremendous power in it, in the spirit realms! These are reasons that God wants you to let someone else know that you have made a serious mistake: (1) To still make your stand with righteousness known. (2) To deprive satan, the accuser, the right to accuse you (3) For your prosperity! Note that after confession of sins, prayer of restoration should follow! Do not confess your faults to someone you know vents his anger with anyone on social media. Such people will never help you! They will tell the whole world (that doesn’t care) your wrong, and they will never pray for your recovery, healing, or restoration.

“He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. Happy is the man that feareth alway: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.” Proverbs 28:13‭-‬14 KJV. Look for a trustworthy brother or sister, and ask for their prayers; if you still lack peace of mind after personal prayers to God! The arrogant ones will find this hard to do. But, the meek will follow God’s counsel and get mercy! God is ever-merciful, if you approach Him standing on his Word.
