     GOD WILL COMFORT YOU

“Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.” Matthew 5:4 KJV

In this verse, the word “mourn” doesnt necessarily mean sadness because someone died. Having checked several versions of the Bible to find the one that best explains the mind of the Spirit in this verse, I found The Message translation: “You’re blessed when you feel you’ve lost what is most dear to you. Only then can you be embraced by the One most dear to you.” Matthew 5:4 MSG.

Genuine followers of Jesus Christ lose so many precious things in the course of their services to GOD. You could find them sad, with head bent over like they are mourning. They lose friends, family, jobs, properties, and so many dear things for the sake of the Kingdom. They sometimes live like an island in a community of people. Jesus said, they shall be comforted. Peter tried to fathom how such people would be comforted: “… See, we have left all and followed You.” Mark 10:28 NKJV. Jesus replied him; “… Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life.” Mark 10:29‭-‬30 NKJV.

You may be mourning over the fact that you lost the relationships that you have with your family and friends, all because you chose Jesus and His ways. You may have even lost your job. Or may be you’re sad because you lost, or left properties due to your choice of GOD’s Kingdom. Whatever it is, GOD will make sure you are well compensated. You shall be comforted! You cannot serve GOD and record losses. You will never regret following Jesus. You are blessed {happy, fortunate, and enviable} if you have lost something or someone during your walk with GOD, because He will comfort you. Your labour and sacrifices for Him shall not be in vain. Wipe your tears, because He is our Comforter.
