GOD DOESN'T HATE YOU LIKE YOU THINK“For the mountains shall depart And the hills be removed, But My kindness shall not depart from you, Nor shall My covenant of peace be removed,” Says the Lord, who has mercy on you.” Isaiah 54:10 NKJV
That was GOD’s promise to a nation He has just punished for their sins. He had to reassure them of His love for them. We can relate with the same promise as His children today.
I do not belong to the Class of Christians who believe that GOD doesn’t punish His children. Neither do I belong to the camp of those who believe that GOD discards people completely if they commit any sin. I believe GOD can punish a rebellious child, and I also believe He still loves that child even while the child is going through the punishment based on this word: “You must submit to [correction for the purpose of] discipline; God is dealing with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline? Now if you are exempt from correction and without discipline, in which all [of God’s children] share, then you are illegitimate children and not sons [at all].” HEBREWS 12:7-8 AMP
So, if GOD has punished you for some wrong you did in the past. Or you’re presently going through some tough times because of the consequences of your wrong choice. My friend, GOD still loves you very much. What GOD seeks so much in wrongdoers is repentance. If He gets that immediately, He instantly forgives. Remember, Prophet Jonah knew GOD that much. That was why he was reluctant to preach in Nineveh. He knew the sinful people might repent, and that GOD would forgive them. And that’s exactly what happened! So, don’t be too hard on yourself after you have repented. GOD wants you to know this: “… the mountains shall depart And the hills be removed, But My kindness shall not depart from you, Nor shall My covenant of peace be removed,” Says the Lord, who has mercy on you.” Isaiah 54:10 NKJV. Halleluyah!
