WATCH THE "GIFTS" YOU ARE RECEIVING

“The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it.” Proverbs 29:4 KJV

The gifts we receive as leaders are presented to us by the presenters with different motives. We must check the motives keenly before accepting the gifts, so that we do not become an accomplice in a crime.

Read again: “The king establishes (stabilizes) the land by justice, But a man who takes bribes overthrows it.” PROVERBS 29:4 AMP. Bribe is also a gift, but the purpose is strictly to pervert judgement. When people tell you they have a gift for you, ask them, ‘what is it for?’ Do not love cheap opportunities to get rich. The Bible says; “A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.” Proverbs 28:20 KJV.

If you occupy any position of leadership. Or you have the privilege of sitting as a judge over any matter. Be very careful with “gifts”. “And thou shalt take no gift: for the gift blindeth the wise, and perverteth the words of the righteous.” Exodus 23:8 KJV. Even if you know the truth, and the answer concerning an issue, the gift you have received can prevent you from seeing the wrong, and from saying what is right. Save yourself the trouble of losing your reputation, and whatever you may have gathered over the years. “He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him.” Proverbs 28:22 KJV. So, be wise. When gifts are presented to you, ask them, ‘what is this for?’
