GOD, THE SHIELD AGAINST THE STORMS OF LIFE
“For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.” Isaiah 25:4.
The life without challenges is not on this earth. Don’t dream about it. Challenges are natural with living on this earth. Both in the Old and New Testament, you won’t find a place where GOD promises a problem-free life to anyone. Either poor or rich. However, He promises to protect us and help us when life’s challenges come.
GOD is the strength to the poor. When the needy are in distress, He shows up to assist them. When the storms of life blow fiercely against us, GOD is our hiding place. He’s the shield against the heat of life. If you run to men when you’re in distress, it would show that you lack the knowledge of who GOD really is. Are you truly poor or in desperate need of basic things? Are you distressed? Do you fear being destroyed by the heat of life, or blown away by its storms? Are you terrified by the “terrible ones”?
There is no truly safe place to live on this earth, apart from inside GOD Almighty. Run into Him, and live there forever. Prayerfully commit your fears and challenges to Him, He will help you with His unlimited strength. He knows and helps those who trust Him. “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength.” Isaiah 26:3-4. I will not diminish, or get swept away by the storms of life, because my hope and trust is not in myself or any man, but in GOD Almighty.
PRAY: My GOD and my Father, I pray today that you should show your mighty power and strength in every area of my life where the enemies and oppressors are harassing me. Protect me from poverty, lack, heat and the storms of this world, in Jesus mighty name. Amen!
